the maltese holiday- film poster
Poster created for the destination Christmas film, The Maltese Holiday, about two strangers that travel to Malta and just happen to fall in love for Christmas.
This poster had to combine two things that don’t usually go together, sunny vacation and Christmas. The main characters travel to the sunny land of Malta for Christmas, and during their traveling adventure they fall in love. The poster needed to have a fun and uplifting feel with sunny skies and blue waters, but also a festive spirit to bring in the Christmas element.

OUR PROCESS
In order to combine the sunny travel theme as well as the Christmas spirit, we came up with the idea of using a postcard with Christmas decorations surrounding it. This allowed us to depict the main characters, together and in love in the warm Malta climate, but still add the festive feel with the outer border of the poster and the title treatment. Having blue as the dominant color while adding in the red and green decorations helped join the different elements together in a natural way.
